Welcome Marching Skyhawks!

A message from Dr. Boyd

Hello Marching Skyhawk members!

The fall of 2017 is going to be an exciting time for our university as we continue the proud tradition of the Marching Skyhawks!  We are excited for our 2017 halftime production which is sure to push the boundaries of college marching band!  Each move we make, every formation, and every note in between will require us to demand excellence in ourselves.  The band is set to double in size and we are thrilled to welcome so many new faces into our family.  The team at Point University is excited with anticipation as we prepare for the fall season.

You are about to begin an experience that will be with you for the rest of your life. Band camp is going to be an enjoyable experience where you will create life-long memories. We are striving to create a positive place where we have a good time sharing the gift of music and entertainment with ourselves and our community. In preparation for camp, I would like to encourage you to eat healthy and make good life choices. We want you to be at your physical best for this fall.

Please remember that band camp is required for all marching band members. It is important that you notify me immediately if you are planning on marching in the fall. This is important because we will write the drill (movements) based on the number of students registered. If we do not know that you coming to band camp, than we may not have a spot in the drill reserved for you. Membership in the Marching Skyhawks is open to ALL full time students. Please email me if you have any questions. We would like to offer scholarship opportunities to all Marching Skyhawk members.

Please read the general information section of this newsletter for more information related to camp dates, schedules, housing, fees, meals, etc.

I am looking forward to meeting each of you at band camp! Until then, have a safe, happy, and blessed spring/summer!

June: 2, 16,30

July: 14,28

August: 7 (this one will be packed, come to one of the earlier ones if you can)
