Rachael Boyd


Rachael Boyd is the Color Guard Coordinator for the Point University Marching Skyhawks and the Visual Coordinator for Point Winds Theater.

Mrs. Boyd is a 2005 graduate of Northgate High School in Newnan, Ga. She received a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in History from the University of  West Georgia in 2011 and a Master’s of Arts degree in Teaching from LaGrange College in 2012. Rachael marched with the Northgate Independent Winter Guard for 7 years while in high school and college. She also marched with Corpsvets Drum and Bugle Corps (2007, 2009), Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps (2008), and Carolina Crown Independent World Winter Guard (2010).

Mrs. Boyd has instructed  color guards and winter guards at various schools in the Carroll and Coweta areas including Temple HS, Carrolton HS, Villa Rica HS, Northgate HS, East Coweta HS, Smokey Road MS and most recently Newnan High School. Mrs. Boyd has worked as a special education teacher at Newnan High School since 2012.

Mrs. Boyd served as the visual coordinator for Point University Winds in 2016.  Under her leadership, Point Winds won the Winds Independent A classification of the Georgia Indoor Percussion Association (GIPA) as well as the Winter Guard International (WGI) Atlanta Regional.  Point Winds finished the 2016 at WGI World Championships, bringing home a world championship silver medal.

Mrs. Boyd is married Dr. Joshua Boyd. They live in Newnan, Ga with their two children, Nathan and Cadence Boyd.
